Have you ever wondered what life would have been like at
the turn of the century-that is, from 1899 to 1900? You can
satisfy your curiosity and have some fun, too, by volunteering
at West View's beautiful Town Square ! Designed to resemble
an authentic small village, Town Square allows you to:
--learn what were the duties of a "soda jerk."
--see what it was like to check out a library book without
a computer.
--get your mail from a lockbox at the post office instead
of home delivery.
--watch a movie in a small, intimate theatre instead of
a cavernous room with digitized sound and animation.
We need people to pack the cones with ice cream, 'jerk" the
sodas, check out the books, hand out the tickets. If this
sounds like something you'd like to do (and if you'd like
to sample one of those cones or watch an old-time
cowboy thriller), please call Lydia Raber at 264-8640. |
